Day Six ended up being more than we expected. We decided to make cookies for the fire station down the road. When I picked the boys up from school we came home to make the cookies so we could deliver them warm. We hopped in the car and drove down the road only to find out the men where out on a call. Not one to let warm cookies go to waist we decided to drive over to another fire station that was a short drive from our house. We were in luck they were there and happy to see us coming.
We gave them they cookies and told them thank you for all they do everyday and that we hoped they had a Merry Christmas. One fireman said to the boys don't you want to come in and see the firetruck and the station house. What boys do you know would turn that offer down. So in we went and we got the lowdown on every part of the truck, what the tools were used for and a tour of the inside of the fire station The boys also got some treats of their own to take home. It was a true blessing to see the firemen take such time with the boys. We are so thankful and never what to take for granted what the men and women who serve our community do on a day to day basis. Without them life would look very different. Thank you all for your willingness to do what so many others would never do. It does not go unnoticed at our home.
