The boys made it about five houses before the complaining started. Who would have thought, not me. I assumed that this would be a fun task that the boys would enjoy since they could run around outside. It was a blessing in disguise though since it allowed us to stop and talk about the gift of being selfless for others. They readily admitted they were thinking of themselves and were remorseful when given the chance to consider the situation. What a valuable lesson we all learned that day.
They finished out the task humbly and with a thankful heart that we could serve our neighbors in such a small but yet meaningful way.
